I rented these films on Itunes while we were on vacation in Germany. My kids normally prefer children's movies, but these extra long comedies were slapstick enough to keep them entertained.


Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer by John Grisham

I started listening to the book on CD (read by Richard Thomas, A.K.A. John Boy Walton) in my car with my 5th grade daughters. They thought it was boring and only made it through the first disc. On the other hand, I persisted through to the end. It's a clever concept but rather prosaic compared to series like Harry Potter or Discworld that my kids and I devour.

An Expensive ($79 apiece) Cure for the Blues

We have a bored German teenager staying with us. We took her to see The Blue Man Group, which successfully alleviated her Weltschmerz for the evening. I even got a parking space directly in front of the theater.
